2D Seismic Navigation System

Introduction

NCS SubSea, Inc. is pleased to offer our Integrated Navigation system for 2D Seismic Acquisition.

The system is an extension of the EIVA NaviPac system, with the inclusion of the Eider utility for generation of user header data including gun timing and QC information into industry standard seismic acquisition systems.

The Eider / NaviPac 2D System is currently in use in the North American area of operations.

Functional Description

The system block diagram is shown below, and is divided into four major sub systems as detailed below;

Acquisition Real-time navigation and event generation is provided by the EIVA NaviPac system. This package is an accepted hydrographic survey system with a proven ability to accept data from multiple sources and to deal with the requirements of geodetic transformations. A full offset and layback suite of algorithms allows for modeling of towed equipment arrays using vessel heading and track through the water.

Cable shapes are derived from cable compass readings to model the streamer shape back to an optional active tailbuoy.
